QUESTON: Does CareerFactor charge fees to candidates?
ANSWER: No, all fees are paid by our client companies. CareerFactor is a 'contingency search firm'.
QUESTON: Does CareerFactor work with candidates that are not technical or computer oriented?
ANSWER: Yes, from time to time we conduct searches that are for individuals outside of the Information Technology industry. Some common examples include: Technical Sales, Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, Training, Human Resources, and Recruiters.
QUESTON: Does CareerFactor work with client companies that are outside of CT?
ANSWER: Yes, we work with client companies that are located in NY, NJ, RI, and MA. We generally do not work outside of the NYC - New England area unless one of our clients has a location in a different part of the country.
QUESTON: I'm on an H1B visa, can you help me?
ANSWER: Normally no. However, from time to time, we have clients that will sponsor and/or transfer visas. Unless otherwise posted on an advertisement, we don't work with candidates that need sponsorship.
QUESTON: Does CareerFactor offer any other services?
ANSWER: Yes, we offer career counseling and general job search advice for the candidates that it represents. This is strictly free advice to help candidates that might be struggling with finding a position or who are having difficulties on interviews.
QUESTON: What makes CareerFactor different than other employment agencies?
ANSWER: We won't waste your time. When we have something we will be aggressive in contacting you and showing you how the new opportunity fits your overall job search strategy. We also make ourselves available after hours to discuss career opportunities.
QUESTON: I've dealt with many other recruiters, they never seem to follow up with me after I have initial contact, do you let that happen?
ANSWER: From time to time it will happen, however, every search we work on is formally closed out when the job is filled and each candidate who was considered for the search is notified electronically. For those who interviewed but did not get the job, we usually call to discuss.
QUESTON: Does CareerFactor pay referral fees?
ANSWER: Yes, from time to time we do.
QUESTON: Does CareerFactor guarantee its work?
ANSWER: Yes, we offer clients a variety of guarantees specific to the way they like to conduct business.
QUESTON: How does CareerFactor find candidates?
ANSWER: We are experts at sourcing. Most clients understand how referrals work, we do the same, however, a client may have several people who may know someone for a position whereas CareerFactor may have several thousand. Other methods we use for finding candidates include: our database, open web searches, and keeping track of technology by corporation.
QUESTON: How does CareerFactor charge?
ANSWER: We charge a percentage of a candidates base salary. The percentage varies by customer. For contracts we charge a mark-up on the hourly rate.
QUESTON: What is your standard fee?
ANSWER: 25% for full time placements; hourly contracts vary depending on if the person requires a W2 or is corp to corp. Putting temp contractors on our payroll as W2 contractors is more expensive than working with an independent consultant. Please call us for the details, we offer 'openbook' billing and we are proud of it.
